I was all set to go shopping and ready to buy a laptop

A larger computer may be good enough. If it is solely for use at home fits the bill you can get a lot more precessing power for your investment. A big and power hungry mobile computer is many times referred to as an office computer replacement.

On the other hand, if you plan to do much mobile computing with your laptop dimensions is an important consideration. You don’t want to be schlepping around a dozen pounds of power hungry laptop gear all places you travel. There are a great selection lightweight and very portable laptops to choose from at affordable prices. You simply have to choose the brand and the style you need and how much precessing power you desire in the laptop.
