Fishing Plugs You May Fish With To Snare Nice Bass
Fishing plugs are artificial baits that are typically manufactured out of balsa wood, cedar, or plastic, and mimic minnows or other little bait fish. Typically, you’ll see 2 types of fishing plugs to take note of, either it will be a diving plug, or a top water plug. Typically, if there is a lip built in to the plug, then you will know that it is a diving plug. Otherwise, it is likely a topwater plug. Now in some cases, it could be a sinking plug, and thus is a diving plug, even though it doesn’t have a diving lip. Understanding these fishing lures plugs can really help you to catch more bass, and increase your skills.
Diving plugs include artificials such as crankbaits, minnow type plugs, and vibrating plugs like Rattle Traps. Crankbaits usually look like crayfish or shad, and will dive all the way up to perhaps 20 feet. Minnow plugs generally do not dive as deep, and have a thinner body, looking like, well, a minnow. Vibrating plugs such as the Rattle Trap swim with short, hard action creating a vibration in the water to attract the bass.
Topwater plugs include a myriad of frogs, poppers and propellers. Poppers are curious because they are generally reeled in with a jerk, and there concave front makes water splash quickly, making a pop or gurlgling noise, to attract nearby fish. Propeller plugs generally have 1 or two propellers, with 2-3 treble hooks, and the propellers spin in the water as the lure is retrieved, thus making noise and vibrating to happen in the water, and fish to be attracted to your line.
