Gel candles comprise mainly of mineral oil. It is 90 percent mineral oil and 10 percent polymer, which is the reason for the candle to have a gel like consistency when done. A gel candle burns for longer than normal wax candle because of the mineral oils.

To make gel candles at home, you need some gel wax, scents or fragrance oil of your choice, candle dyes, wick base, wick, non-flammable glass container or a jar and embeds. Once you have all these materials ready, follow the simple procedure to make gel candle.
To start with melt the wax in a bowl. Usually, gel wax takes more time to melt than other wax materials. The next step is to add your chosen color and scent soon after it melts. Now, pour the mixed wax in a glass container which has the wick placed in the center on a wick base. Make sure that you pour hot wax into the container, otherwise it leads to the formation of air bubbles. On the other hand, if you like to have visible bubbles, let the wax cool for a while before being poured to the container. Just let the wax cool and settle down in the container and you get a ready to lit candle.
